How to Check the Firmware
Before you begin with the firmware, you first need to check the firmware version of your soundbar.

After checking the firmware version, you can follow the steps given below to update the firmware of your device. Update your Klipsch Cinema 700, 800, and 1200 using this method only if the DSP value is lower than 4.4 and the MCU value is 92.
Step 1: Update DSP Firmware on Cinema Soundbar
In order to do this, you need a flash drive, which should either be brand new or completely formatted to FAT32 and empty.
1. On your PC, download the DSP zip file and unzip the folder.

- DSP zip file for Cinema 1200
2. Copy the ISPBOOOT.BIN file into the flash drive and eject it from your PC.
3. Disconnect your soundbar from its power outlet and connect it back once again.
4. Once the system is fully turned on, locate the USB port and insert the USB drive into it.
Note: You should either remove the end cap or the right panel to find the USB port.
5. Now, long press the Power button on the soundbar for 15 seconds and let go when you see UPGRADE on the display.
6. Following that, the screen will display the words UP DSP.
7. Do not disturb the system for the next 5 minutes, even if you hear a hum or hiss coming out of the soundbar.
8. After that, press the Power button to turn on the soundbar and remove the USB drive.

1. On your PC, download the MCU zip file and unzip the folder if necessary.

2. Connect a completely empty and formatted USB to your system and copy the zip file into it.
3. After that, eject the USB drive and connect it to your Klipsch Soundbar’s USB port. Ensure your soundbar is connected to power and turned on.
4. Press and hold the Power button until you see the word UPGRADE appear on the screen. This indicates that the update has been initiated.
5. Once the update is over, the display will go back to the Input and Volume options and show TV 30.
6. Wait for another minute and remove the USB drive from the soundbar.
7. Now, disconnect the soundbar from power and connect it back after 10 seconds.
8. In a minute, the soundbar will turn on completely. Then, press the Pair button on the soundbar and check the MCU firmware version.
Step 3: Update WiFi on Cinema Soundbar
1. Download the SWU zip file on your PC and unzip the folder if necessary.

2. Connect the formatted and empty USB flash drive into your system and copy the file into it.
3. Rename the file as image.swu and remove the USB drive from your PC.
4. Insert the USB drive into your soundbar’s USB port and press the Power button until UPGRADE appears on the display.
5. Following that, the words UP WIFI will appear on the screen for a second and disappear instantly.
6. In about 2 minutes, the update will begin, and the WIFI count will go up from 00 to 100.
Note: Sometimes, words such as MCU, TX, SUR, RX, and SUR may also appear on the screen. No need to worry about that.
7. Once the update is over, TV 30 will appear on the display or go completely blank.
8. Now, remove the USB drive from the soundbar and unplug the soundbar from power.
9. After 10 seconds, connect it back to power, turn on the soundbar, and check if the software update was successful.
How to Update Klipsch Soundbar RSB Series
As for the Klipsch Soundbar RSB series, such as the RSB-6, RSB-8, RSB-11, and RSB-14, the updating methods vary slightly. I have explained them clearly in this section for your understanding.
Updating RSB 6 and RSB 8
1. From the official Klipsch website, download the firmware zip file of your soundbar based on your model.
2. Now, connect an empty USB drive to your PC, copy the .mdu file into it, and eject the flash drive from the system.
3. On your soundbar, remove the power cord and insert the USB into the USB port.
4. Connect it back to power and press the Source key. The Dolby Digital LED light will light up, indicating the update has begun.
5. One after the other, the Virtual Surround Mode LED, Dialog LED, and Night Mode LED will all turn on, and the update will end once all four lights turn on.
6. Disconnect the soundbar from power and remove the USB drive. After that, power on your soundbar, and it will be updated to its latest firmware.
Updating RSB 11 and RSB 14
1. After downloading the firmware zip file for the soundbar, copy the files into a formatted USB flash drive and remove the USB from your PC.
2. Disconnect the soundbar’s power cord and insert the USB drive into the soundbar’s USB port.
3. Long press the Volume Up button on the soundbar, and at the same time, connect the power cord back to the soundbar.
4. Let go of the button when the Dolby Digital LED lights up, indicating the MCU firmware update has begun.
5. Following that, the Virtual Surround Mode LED, Dialog LED, and Night Mode LED will all turn on one by one. Once the update is over, the system will automatically turn off.
6. In a few seconds, the Digital LED will turn on automatically, indicating the DSP firmware update has begun.
7. Gradually, the HDMI1 LED, HDMI2 LED, HDMI3 LED, and the TV LED will turn on one by one, and all lights will turn off when the update is over.
9. Finally, disconnect the power cord from the soundbar and remove the USB drive.
When you turn your soundbar after that, the system will be running on its latest software version.
Note: If the Bluetooth LED lights up, then it means the update has failed. Redo the same process until you update the software successfully.

As for other Klipsch Soundbar models, such as the Bar 48, you can download the respective update files from the official Klipsch firmware page.
