If you have an Xfinity remote and wish to pair it with your soundbar, then you can do so using the universal remote codes available for each device. If you have the right code, the connection can be done within a few minutes, no matter which brand your soundbar belongs to. Apart from programming the Xfinity remotes to the soundbar using remote codes, you can do it without the codes as well. Read along to get familiar with all the methods involved in this pairing process.
How to Pair Xfinity Remote with the Soundbar
Even though the pairing process is almost similar to all kinds of Xfinity remotes, there are some small variations for each of them. Everything has been explained clearly in the sections given below.
Pair Xfinity Voice Remote to Soundbar
If you have an Xfinity voice remote, such as the XRA or the XR15, then you can pair the remote with your soundbar using the steps mentioned below.
1. First, connect your soundbar to power and turn it on.
2. For XRA, press the Home and Mute buttons simultaneously for about 5 seconds on the Xfinity remote.
3. For XR15, press the Xifinity and Mute buttons simultaneously for five seconds.
3. When the light on the remote turns red to green, press and enter the remote code using the Xfinity remote.
4. If the code is valid, the green LED light on the remote will blink two times, and if the code is not valid, it will blink red and then turn green.
5. When the code is valid, point the remote directly at the soundbar and press the Power button.
6. If the soundbar turns off, turn on the soundbar and press the Volume and Mute buttons.
7. The pairing is successful if the Volume and Mute buttons work properly.
Pair XR16 Voice Remote to Soundbar
You can follow the below methods to pair your Xfinity XR16 remote to soundbars, including Bose, Samsung, LG, JBL, Polk, Sonos, and others.
1. In order to control your soundbar using the XR16 voice remote, you have to connect the remote to your TV first.
2. To do that, turn on your soundbar connected to your TV and press the Voice button on the Xfinity remote.
3. Give a voice command, Program Remote, and follow the prompts on the screen to complete the pairing.
4. Alternatively, you can also try to get to the pairing mode through the settings. On the TV Settings, navigate to the Remote Settings option and select Voice Remote Pairing.
5. Same as before, follow the instructions displayed on the screen to pair the Xfinity remote to the TV and the connected soundbar audio system.
Pair Other Xfinity Remotes to Soundbar
For Xfinity remotes such as XR2, XR5, and others with no voice control, use the instructions below to pair the Xfinity remote with the soundbar. The one exception is the XR11 voice remote, which follows the same method.
1. Turn on your soundbar, point the remote at the soundbar, and press the Setup button.
2. In some remotes, press the AUX button once and then press the Setup button
3. Let go of the buttons when the red light on the button changes to green and enter the five-digit remote code.
Note: Some remotes might not have two different red and green lights. In that case, the light will either blink or stay stable.
4. When you enter the right code, the green light on the remote will blink two times.
5. Finally, press the Power or Volume buttons on the remote and check if the soundbar is responding to it.
6. If it did not work with the remote, then try the steps once again until the process is successful.
How to Get the Remote Code for Xfinity Remotes
The remote codes vary based on the soundbar being used. If you have access to the right set of codes already, then there isn’t much to worry about. But if you are not sure about the code, then here is the guide to get them in a few simple steps. Follow the below steps to get the remote codes to program the Xfinity remote to the soundbar.

4. Under that, choose Setup a remote option and locate your remote model from the options shown on the screen.
5. Press the Continue button, choose your soundbar or audio system, and follow the on-screen prompts to pair the Xfinity remote with the soundbar.
FAQ
If your Xfinity remote is not pairing with your soundbar, check if the soundbar is properly turned on and use the right set of remote codes. Ensure you have made the soundbar the primary output receiver when connected to the TV while pairing the Xfinity remote with it. Unless it is the output device, you will not know if the pairing is successful or not.
