Samsung Soundbar No Sound Problem

Unmute the Soundbar
Before you get into the other troubleshooting methods, check if you have unknowingly unmuted the soundbar or the TV connected to it. Press the Mute button or the Volume Up button. If a muted system or if the low volume level was the real reason, then this is all you need to do to resolve the problem.
Check the Remote
Sometimes, the remote batteries would have drained, or the remote in itself would be damaged. In that case, no matter how many times you try, the Samsung Soundbar volume controls will not work. Check the HDMI Connection
1. Ensure the HDMI cable connected to the HDMI eARC ports of the TV and the soundbar is in proper working condition.
2. If there is any damage or defect to the HDMI cable, replace it with a brand new one at once.
3. Turn on both devices and check if you have enabled the HDMI-CEC or the Anynet+ option on your TV.
4. Under the TV settings, navigate to the Sound Output option and choose your connected soundbar.
5. On the Samsung Soundbar, press the Source button and choose D.IN from the options available.
6. When the Soundbar screen shows D.IN, as soon as the scrolling starts, D.IN should be followed by the words TV ARC.
7. If TV ARC does not appear on the soundbar display, disconnect and reconnect the soundbar and the TV once again.

Check the HDMI Cable
If there are no issues with the settings, then the issue could be with the HDMI cable. Remove the HDMI cable from its respective ports and clean the slots properly. Dust and debris could have accumulated in that space, creating the issue.
Check the HDMI cables for any damage, and try connecting different devices using the same HDMI cable. If the devices did not connect, or if there is any damage to the cable, replace it with a new one.
No Sound When Connected Through Bluetooth
When the Samsung Soundbar is connected to the TV through Bluetooth, several factors add to it. Ensure there aren’t any devices, furniture, or person physically blocking the soundbar’s signals.
1. Turn on your TV connected to your Samsung Soundbar and open the Settings.
2. Navigate to sound settings, and under the Sound Output option, choose your Bluetooth Speaker or Soundbar from the list given.
3. The screen should either say Paired or Need Pairing.
If it says Paired, well and good. If not, click on it. This should have triggered a solution to your issue with the soundbar volume on the Samsung Soundbar.
Unpair and Re-pair the Soundbar
If the above method does not work, then you will have to unpair and repair the soundbar and the TV once again.
1. In order to unpair the soundbar from the TV, click on the Source button on the soundbar or the remote.
2. Choose any mode other than BT, and the devices will be unpaired.
3. Now, press the Pair button on the remote control to get the BT PAIRING on the soundbar display.
4. At the same time, enable the Pairing mode on your TV as well. Each TV comes with its own set of instructions to enable this feature.
5. The devices will now automatically connect with each other, and if not, you can do it manually.

No Sound When Connected through WiFi
If you have connected the Samsung Soundbar to your TV wirelessly using WiFi, then you should do the following to resolve the no sound issue.
Check the Internet Connection
1. Check if the WiFi speed is optimal and the router is in proper working condition.
2. If not, contact your Internet service provider to fix the issue with the internet speed.
3. On the other hand, turn off the router, turn it back on after a few seconds, and try connecting the soundbar to your WiFi once again.
If the connection is successful, play a song and check if the sound is back on. If not, then continue to do the other troubleshooting fixes.
Interruption in the Signal
Remove all things heavy and small that interrupt the path of connection between the soundbar and router. Bring the router and the Samsung Soundbar closer to each other and try connecting them once again.
Note: You get to connect the Samsung Soundbar to the WiFi only through the SmartThings app.
No Sound When Connected to an External Device
When an external device is connected to the soundbar, then the volume problem could be because of that device. Check if the connection between the device and the soundbar is secure and proper. Have a look at the cables and ensure they are not damaged.
If neither of the devices is muted, then the problem could be with the external device. Connect the device to another audio system, and if the same problem happens, then it is definitely the external device behind the no sound issue.
Samsung Soundbar Audio Sync Problem
Some users with Samsung Soundbars connected to their TVs are experiencing a lag in the audio. Sometimes, the audio-video sync seems to be completely off. This greatly affects the clarity and quality of the audio.
Reset the Soundbar
If the audio-visual interruption keeps happening, then try resetting the Samsung Soundbar and the TV connected to it. Factory resetting the devices will revert them back to their original default settings. Connect the soundbar to the TV once again from the beginning using the SmartThings app and check if the audio sync is back to normal.
If you have connected the devices together wirelessly, then check for signal interruptions before resetting the devices. The path of connection between the devices should be clear of other items. The signals from other devices are capable of interfering with the audio-video synchronization.
Check the Video Audio Compatibility
While connecting the Soundbar to the TV, you have to use the right kind of cables. If the cable used is not a premium quality HDMI cable that supports 4K and 8K, then there will be interruptions in the audio when it does not match the resolution and quality of the audio.
In most of the advanced soundbars, the audio sync and lip sync options come enabled automatically. But sometimes, you will have to turn it on manually through your TV and soundbar settings.
Samsung Soundbar Speakers
If your Samsung Soundbar’s speakers are not in sync, there are a few things that you can do to get the volume of the rear speakers to match the front speakers. This is applicable only to soundbar models such as Q90R, Q80R, and Q70R.
- First and foremost, update the Samsung Soundbar. Updating the soundbar to its latest firmware version eliminates such issues with the soundbar and its speakers.
- Once the update is over, switch off the soundbar completely and press the Source button present on the soundbar.
- Release the button after about 5 seconds, and the soundbar will automatically turn on.
If the system turns on properly, then it means the update was successful, and the problem has been resolved. If it did not, or if there were no updates available, then proceed to reset the audio system.
Samsung Soundbar Low Volume Problem
There will be times when your Samsung Soundbar will exhibit minor volume problems, such as low volume, even when the volume level is set to maximum. You are neither completely muted nor able to experience the proper audio. Here is what you need to do to rectify it.
- Increase the volume level of all the other connected devices, including the speakers and subwoofers.
- Disable the Night mode on your TV or soundbar if you have enabled it previously.
Volume Issues on Samsung Soundbar Connected to Samsung TV
If you have connected your Samsung Soundbar to one of the latest models of Samsung TV, then you should make changes to the Output Audio setting if you are experiencing the low volume issue.
1. On the Samsung TV connected to your soundbar, press the Home button.
2. Open Settings and click on the Sound option.
3. Under that, choose Quick Settings and select Expert Settings.
4. Under that, check if the Digital Output Audio Format is set to PCM or not. If it is set to any option other than PCM, change it at once.
Enabling PCM increases the volume of the media being played instantly. Check if the difference is seen in your Samsung TV and Soundbar.
