You can use this technique to troubleshoot your TCL Soundbars when they don’t work as intended. There are two ways to reset your TCL Soundbar. If your TCL Soundbar is not working, follow this article to learn how to reset it. The resetting methods provided below apply to any TCL Soundbar model, including Alto 9+, Alto 8+, Alto 6+, Alto 8i, and others. Hence, choose a method that is suitable for you.
When to Reset TCL Soundbar?
There are certain situations where resetting your soundbar is very helpful. Some scenarios where the reset is applicable are,
- The soundbar is stuck in standby mode or a particular setting.
- When the soundbar refuses to pair with another device.
- The soundbar is not playing any songs all of a sudden.
- Minor unspecific software issues.
How to Soft Reset TCL Soundbar
Before attempting to factory reset your TCL Soundbar, it is advisable to soft reset it. A soft reset, in layman’s terms, indicates power cycling your soundbar. A power cycle simply restarts your device and removes the residual charges present. By doing this, any sort of minor technical glitches get erased.
1. Cut off the power supply to your soundbar.
2. Remove the Power cable from the socket. Also, remove the HDMI/Optical/Aux or any wires connected to another device.
3. Then, wait for 30 seconds minimum.
4. After this, press the Power button present on your TCL soundbar and hold it for 30 seconds.
Note – You can also try restarting the device connected to your soundbar to see if the problem gets solved.
5. Now, your TCL Soundbar will remove all the residual charge present in it.
6. Then, connect the TCL Soundbar to your TV. Also, insert its power cables into the socket.
7. Turn on the power supply to your Soundbar as well as your TV and start playing your favorite music.
8. If it plays normally, fine. If not, then proceed to factory reset your device.
Note: Frequent power cycling of your device might damage its internal components.
How to Hard Reset TCL Soundbar to Factory Settings
A factory reset or hard reset of your soundbar deletes all the data saved on it. This includes all the configuration, settings, etc, along with minor bugs and glitches.
1. Turn on the power supply to your TCL Soundbar and put it in standby mode. The soundbar’s White LED light starts blinking when it is in standby mode.
2. Now, point the remote at your soundbar. Press and hold either of the Play, Pause, or OK buttons on the remote for at least 5 seconds.
3. Release the button once you see the Factory Reset option displayed on your soundbar. Now, press the same button that you were holding on in the previous step.
4. After a few seconds, your TCL soundbar will get reset to default settings. All the data, including minor technical errors that are causing problems with your soundbar, gets flushed out.
5. Now, your soundbar restarts itself, after which you can test it by playing any songs.
How to Fix Bluetooth Pairing Issues on TCL Soundbar
If your TCL Soundbar fails to pair with other Bluetooth devices, it could be because of factors such as proximity, device interference, outdated firmware, and so on. If you are unable to find the right cause, follow the troubleshooting technique to resolve the issue.
Enable Pairing Mode
Check whether Bluetooth is enabled on your soundbar and the corresponding Bluetooth device to pair. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on your soundbar until you see the LED indicator status flashing. Then, choose your TCL soundbar from the Bluetooth settings on your Bluetooth device.
Disconnect Other Bluetooth Devices
Be sure to unpair other devices from your soundbar and the Bluetooth device. You can unpair the device or forget the device to avoid interference. Better turn off the nearby Bluetooth devices that might interfere with the pairing process.
Use Correct Passcode
The TCL soundbar gets paired with another device via Bluetooth without the need for a pairing code. In a rare case, if prompted on your device, use the default passcode 0000 or 1234.
Ensure Proximity
The TCL soundbar’s Bluetooth connectivity ranges between 3 and 10 feet. Hence, be sure to place your device within close proximity for a quick and trouble-free connection.
Restart the Devices
Sometimes, a small bug on your device can cause huge trouble. To fix it, restart both your soundbar and the pairing device. This will resolve the technical issues and help you pair the device without any trouble.
Try Software Update
If your device software is outdated, you might face such issues. So, check if there is an update available for your soundbar and Bluetooth device. If available, update both devices to the latest version of the software.
Factory Reset
If all fixes fail to resolve the pairing issue on your soundbar, reset it to the factory default settings using the steps given above. Then, set up the device and try to pair it with your Bluetooth device.
